Where we started
Traditional online furniture shopping suffers from high return rates and low conversion because customers cannot accurately visualize the dimensions, colors, and textures of products within their actual living spaces. Existing market solutions often require downloading heavy software, run slowly, and lack personalized product discovery features. The core challenge was to develop a high-performance cross-platform system that delivers seamless, browser-based 3D rendering and instant AR placement without lag, while leveraging automation to drive up average order value.
What we did
Solway executed a multi-faceted development strategy that combined cutting-edge web graphics (Three.js), augmented reality, and machine learning within an Agile framework. The team focused on deeply intuitive user-centric design principles to ensure complex tools like the room planner and interactive furniture replacement felt natural on both web and mobile screens. A scalable stack featuring React for responsive frontends, alongside Nest.js and MongoDB for backend architecture, was chosen to maintain rapid response times when processing heavy 3D assets and big data.
What we achieved
The resulting omnichannel Web and Mobile platform transforms the furniture shopping journey into an immersive, interactive digital experience. It introduces a live AR module for fitting models directly into physical rooms and an advanced layout planner for building complete custom interiors. Every product page is enhanced with an interactive 3D configurator for real-time fabric and finish customization, backed by an ML-driven recommendation engine that analyzes spatial shapes and user preferences to automatically pitch matching items and boost digital sales.
